It's a phrase soccer players have used for generations, describing a soccer player's attitude and character on the pitch during the 90 minutes, and off the pitch after the final whistle. Who you are off the pitch transpires on the pitch. At times, who you are on the pitch transpires off the pitch. The lines get blurred, but that's the point. Who are you, on and off the pitch?
